Thank you to sponsors, volunteers, for making the Para Worlds a success
Now that the Para World Championship is over, it's time for us to say thank you to the many people who helped make it possible.
This event, which welcomed 98 athletes from 38 countries around the world, was the most prestigious adaptive sailing event that’s ever come to Sheboygan. Meeting these elite sailors, their families and support teams was a highlight for everyone involved in hosting and organizing the event. And working alongside the many volunteers who stepped forward to help the Para World run smoothly both on the water and off was an honor.
We'd like to say thank you, as well to our sponsors, without whom we couldn't have staged this event: platinum sponsor Plenco; gold sponsors Vollrath, KiMobility and Midwest Communications; and silver sponsor Seehafer Broadcasting; as well as The Sheboygan Press and and other businesses who helped with the event. We are very grateful for your commitment to this the Para World, to SEAS and to the sport of sailing.
In addition, the fundraiser for our adaptive sailing program, Brats4Sail, was a success as well because of the people who came out to eat, drink and support the cause. Thanks are due to Miesfelds, 3 Sheeps Brewing Company and SoLu Estate Winery, as well as the Honeygoats, for making it such a memorable night.
The Para World Championship is the highest level of competition available in the world for disabled sailors, and Sheboygan is now on the map of premium sailing venues for regattas of that caliber. Without our sponsors, volunteers and the support of the community, none of that would have been possible.
Thank you, once again, to everyone who helped plan, host, work and support the 2018 Para World Championship. You made it possible for us to share our beautiful lakefront and hometown to many international visitors.
